How to Prepare for a Marathon – Online Lecture
Running a marathon is one of the greatest endurance challenges - with the right knowledge and proper preparation, it’s achievable for anyone. In this online lecture, Coach Egor Mishutin, Ph.D. in Physical Education and Sport, will guide you through the science and practice of marathon preparation.
You will learn:
- Basics of how the body works during endurance training
- The main limitations to progress
- Training zones and how to use them
- Different workout types and their purpose
- Periodization and building training blocks
- Race-day strategy and recovery after
At the end of the lecture, you’ll have a Q&A session to ask your own questions
The lecture will take place on Zoom, the access link will be sent to you shortly after registration
The lecture is designed for everyone - from first-time marathoners to experienced runners and coaches. By the end, you’ll be ready to train smarter and improve your personal best.

- Alternatively, before registration closes, an athlete may change race category or transfer their entry to another athlete (subject to our Terms of Service and the prevailing registration fee at the time of transfer).
Refund policy for event changes:
- Cancelled events: You’ll be contacted and refunded automatically.
- Rescheduled events: We’ll notify you of the new date and time. If you’re unable to attend, refunds are available upon request.
- Store purchases: These are non-refundable.
