Event description
Audax UAE Randonneur 200 kms BRM – This is the first 200 km BRM event to be conducted in UAE on 19-March-2022. A BRM is not a race or a competition so there are no podium positions for fastest finishers. A rider who has successfully completed a 200 km brevet is called a Randonneur. This is a lifelong title.
A 200 KM BRM is the simplest of brevets that requires the least amount of training. More than the physical strength you need the “I-can-do-it” attitude.
Randonneuring - Randonneuring is a long distance Endurance Cycling with rides of 200, 300, 400, 600 and 1000 kms called Brevets de Randonneurs Mondiaux (BRMs).
Audax Club Parisien (ACP) Is the international governing body for randonneuring that administers and oversees the conduct of BRMs worldwide. This style of riding is non-competitive in nature, and self-sufficiency is paramount. Participation in randonneuring events is part of a long tradition that goes back to the beginning of the sport of cycling in France and Italy. Friendly camaraderie and perseverance are the hallmarks of randonneuring.
Ride Starts from Circuit Wheelz - 6:30 am to 7:30 am
You will have to cross through each checkpoint within the opening and closing time.
First Checkpoint at 51.4 kms (Opens at 8:01 am and closes at 10:34 am)
Second Checkpoint at 126 kms (Opens at 10:12 am and closes at 2:54 pm)
Third Checkpoint at 168 kms (Opens at 11:26 am and closes at 5:42 pm)
Ride Ends at Circuit Wheelz (200 kms) Closes at 8 pm
Once rider finishes a brevet in stipulated time clearing all the intermediate checkpoints, he/she can apply for brevet medal & pay medal fee (AED 40) to club. The Medal will be provided later (usually within 6 months) after your ride details is validated and homologated by ACP France.

- * At the start, each rider will receive a brevet card and a cue sheet indicating the route and the location of the checkpoints. Riders must stay on the route. If a rider leaves the route, they must return to the route at the same point prior to continuing, ie. no shortcuts or detours from the route, unless specified by the organizer. Riders must stop at each checkpoint to have their card stamped. Organizers may also include unannounced checkpoints along the route. This assures that everyone will stay on the prescribed route.

- * A 200 KM BRM is to be finished in 13.5 Hours. This works out to less than 15 Kmph – which is easily achievable by recreational cyclists.
* Any form of human-powered vehicle is acceptable. The only stipulation is that the vehicle must be powered solely by the rider.
