    The New York City Marathon is one of the largest and most well-known marathons in the world.

    The marathon takes place in New York City, covering all five boroughs: Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan.

    The course starts at the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge on Staten Island and passes through various neighbourhood's in each borough before finishing in Central Park in Manhattan. Runners cross several iconic landmarks, such as the Brooklyn Bridge and the Queensboro Bridge.

    The marathon attracts runners from all over the world, both elite athletes and amateur runners. It is known for its diverse and large field of participants.

    The New York City Marathon is organized by New York Road Runners (NYRR), a non-profit running organization.
